Use Facebook Messenger Code: Improve Brand/Business presence

With the effectiveness and popularity of private media apps, it should be no surprise that most social media platforms are going all-in for private messaging, as it is an effective social media strategy to contect with users on a personal level.

Facebook has stepped up its game for brands/businesses to communicate with customers via the private, one-to-one messaging feature it provides on Messenger.

Connect using Messenger

Over 900 million people are using Messenger every month out of which one billion messages are sent between people and businesses each month. This feature would allow businesses to build personal connections with the people who are interested in them.

Messenger Username/Link

Earlier Messenger usernames and links made it easy to find a person or business in Messenger. You can share your username or link with people or publish it to help them start a conversation with you.

Facebook Messenger Code

Facebook has rolled out what it calls the Messenger Code - a series of dots and dashes encircling the profile picture. When someone scans one with their camera, it'll open the option to send them a message. Using your Messenger code to communicate through Facebook Messenger takes a little bit of know-how.

How to find your Facebook page Messenger code?

  • Download & Install Facebook Pages Manager app on your mobile phone.
  • Select the Page with the code you wish to find.
  • Once you’re on the selected Page, click on the Messages icon along the top.
  • On the top bar, you can see the Messenger code icon (2 broken nested circles).
  • Click on the Messenger icon to view and share your Messenger code or Messenger link.

How to find your Facebook profile Messenger code?

  • Download & Install Facebook Messenger app on your mobile phone.
  • Once you sign in into Messenger, click on the upper right corner person icon.
  • The Messenger code for your personal profile will appear now with your profile picture occupying the center.
  • You will also be provided with a direct link to your Facebook Messenger.

How to Scan a Facebook Messenger Code?

  • Tap on your Messenger code to see the Save/Share Code options.
  • Tap the Scan Code tab.
  • Your device will open a scan feature which allows you to capture another Profile/Page Messenger code to open a Message Chat to that Profile or Page.

How to Use your Facebook Messenger Code?

Once you have your Facebook Messenger code, use the PNG version in the following ways:
  • Add your Messenger code to your email signature.
  • Embed your Messenger code on your blog or website.
  • Share your code via your social media and set it as your profile image.

The real beauty of Facebook messenger codes is that they can be used offline. Publish your Messenger code to your business cards, store signage/brochures, product packaging, and in other ways. Alternatively you can use the link m.me/username, as your Messenger website link.

Can Amazon Go change the Future of Retail?

The Future? Yes! Amazon Go store is a radically new type of grocery store: A store with no checkout counter. All you need is the Amazon Go app to enter the store and start shopping. If all goes well Self-checkout would be the next big innovation in retail environment after the credit cards.

What is the current Retail scenario?

Bottlenecks at the checkout counter - Impatient shoppers funnel to cashiers - Overworked but less paid cashiers - Low-margin profitted but wage-burdened Retailers

What would be the Amazon Go scenario?

No more cash register, no cashiers, no lines and absolutely no fumbling for a credit card. One can simply walk in, grab the stuff you want and walk out. Can it get more easy than that? Amazon’s advanced AI competence can handle everything related to the payment and checkout processes of shopping smoothly.

How would Amazon Go work?

The Promotional Video on Amazon Go does not explain much. Given the state of artificial intelligence, RFID, sensor and machine learning technologies today and the patents applied by Amazon in 2014, let's check out a rough idea.
Consider a shopper "Mr.X".
  • Amazon Go app may tie Mr.X to his identity and may trigger tracking features once Mr.X steps inside the store with his smartphone.
  • To track Mr.X through the store, either cameras equipped with facial recognition or bluetooth radio signals from his phone might be used.
  • To detect Mr.X's interaction with products on the shelves, cameras and pressure-sensitive shelves might be used.
  • To verify individual items bagged by Mr.X some kind of RFID might be made use.
  • Finally each item Mr.X has chosen will be tallied and be billed to his Amazon account.

Possible Drawbacks of Amazon Go Scenario

  • Figuring a way to identify individual shoppers and track their purchases as they leave the store with 100 percent accuracy is a problem that’s hard to solve.
  • When we shop for two or three items, Self-checkout is comfortable and fine.
  • When Mr.X shops for a cartload, he probably would expect some help with the bagging.
  • When Mr.X shops for certain food like vegetables, that are priced by weight, there is a real complication.
  • Grocery shoppers often put things back in the wrong aisle. Amazon may mistakenly charge Mr.X for something he didn’t buy.
  • Theivery is the biggest problem yet. Most stores deploy tools like video analytics and beacons. Statistically, the goods hauled away by self-checkers is twice the ripoff rate when human clerks are around.

The Future

It won't come as a surprise if the Grocers, who work on thin profit margins, are not ready to share Amazon's willingness to lose hefty amount on this innovation. So it is safe to say that Instant shopping is no immediate danger to Cashiers around the globe.

Amazon Go Beta

Presently, the only Amazon Go store operating in Beta mode is at Amazon's hometown Seattle, and available only to the Amazon employees. It’s hard for Amazon to go wrong when it has control over the space, it's infrastructure, products in it and who goes in there.
But the real scenario may be very different, when it opens up for civilians in early 2017. How Amazon will overcome all the hurdles mentioned above, remains to be seen. Still, that’s what betas are for and nobody else is Amazon.

What is ECMO? How does it work?

ECMO - ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. It is a life-support machine that bypasses heart and lung operations.

What does ECMO mean?

"Extracorporeal” means outside the body “Membrane” refers to the mechanical lungs “Oxygenation” is the process of removing the carbon-dioxide in the blood and putting oxygen into the blood. So ECMO means the process of circulating and oxygenating the blood outside the body of the patient.

When does one need ECMO?

When a cardiac arrest patient does not respond to any conventional treatment offered, then ECMO is made to take over the workload of both heart and lungs.

How ECMO works?

ECMO Machine Functionality - Impure blood rich in carbon dioxide is drained from the veins, the carbon dioxide is removed externally by the machine, the required oxygen is added and further the pure blood is warmed to body temperature before pumping it back into an artery. Thus ECMO bypasses the functions performed by both Heart and Lungs.

How long does one need ECMO?

  • A patient can be on ECMO for several hours to few weeks.
  • ECMO is not a healing procedure. It merely takes over the function of heart and lungs, thus allowing them to rest and recover.
  • When the heart and the lungs of the patient are healthy enough to function on their own, ECMO support can be gradually removed.

Did you know? Google Search gets Mobile-first Indexing

Since inception, Google's ranking systems still evaluate the desktop version of a webpage’s content to know its relevance to user's query. But on mobile, the page has less content than desktop. Hence more is the chance that the content's relevancy to user's query is actually less.

Are you a Webmaster?

Be prepared. Google is switching to a mobile-first indexing methodology and splitting its index between mobile & desktop. Mobile index will become the Google's primary index.

There are two chances. Sites can have either desktop version only or both desktop and mobile versions.

Desktop version only -

Don't worry. Google will continue to index your site just fine. But remember that the desktop index will not be kept as up-to-date as the mobile one.

Both Desktop & Mobile versions available -

Note : If your site is Responsive or Dynamic serving plus the primary content and the markup is different across mobile and desktop, consider serving optimal, content-relevant structured markup.

Use Robots.txt Testing Tool -

Verify if your site's mobile version is accessible to the Googlebot .

Use Search Console -

Verify your desktop site as well as the mobile version.

Use Structured Data Testing Tool -

Compare the equivalence of structured markup across both the versions by typing both the URLs.
Starting to build up a mobile site?
Keep in mind that rather than an incomplete mobile version of the site, a fully functional desktop-oriented site is definitely a better option.
